Have I failed? Really want to be a cop?

Am in the procces of becoming a cop. Background investigator needs more information on 3 things then says we can rap you up. I have completed everything else medical, pschological, polygraph. Wants to talk to people I have worked with at my second to last job. Department went through a reorg. So I gave him a name of someone who has since left the company and lives on the other side of the country. And a former supvisor who has been transfered to a different office. Is this ok? I have done everything all 8 of 8 steps. Is the background investigator just trying to sign off on the application. OR probing for weakness?
