It is poetry, not the in lyric and rhythmic sense. Try to break it up by feeling, and thoughts, I have never been to the subway but you did a good job of explaining your experience while not giving too much detail. I would recommend looking at some poetry, Although, you might not me a professional, few really are, just write to express you self..
