How are the orbits of comets and asteroids different to other planets?

Comets that come into the inner solar system (inside the orbit of Mars) usually have higher orbit eccentricities and inclinations than any planet does. Asteroids sometimes have higher orbit eccentricities or inclinations that any planet does.
