WTF and ITF Taekwondo, what one uses punches?

i am currently in WTF taekwondo we do punches but learn more kicks im only an orange belt at the moment but i am VERY interested in joining judo do u think it would be okay for me to join judo while i am still in taekwondo. WTF and ITF taekwondo are basically the same but ITF has headshots and WTF doesnt allow headshots.
